2015 Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges

The 2015 Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges begins on July 24, showcasing the creativity, talent and hard work of students from across the state.

Three hundred guests are expected to attend the festival’s opening Mass at Infant Jesus Parish in Morley, which will begin with a student flag procession and musical fanfare provided by Ursula Frayne Catholic College students.

A schedule packed with dance, drama, vocal, instrumental and choral performances by Catholic school students from Year 1 through to Year 12 will follow the opening mass, culminating with the Festival Concert at the Perth Concert Hall on September 14.

The Performing Arts Festival has become an established feature of Catholic Education in Western Australia, and now in its 26th year continues to provide students with opportunities to express their creative development and strive for excellence in performance.

Catholic Arts Chairman John Aldous said the festival’s ongoing success was made possible by the 'dedication of our students, the support of their families, hard work of their teachers and the generosity of many volunteers'.

For 2015 the entry process moved online, helping to streamline registration as the festival received an unprecedented number of entries. With more than 2500 entries, the festival will see in excess of 19,000 students from 106 schools taking part in performances held at venues around the Perth metropolitan area.
