5 October 2012 is World Teachers’ Day.
World Teachers’ Day is held annually to celebrate teachers worldwide. Its aim is to support teachers and ensure the need to educate future generals will continue to be met by teachers.
The day was created by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation) in 1994 and is also backed by Education International, a teachers’ rights group that acts as the voice of educators around the globe, with over 400 associations and unions in more than 170 countries and territories, representing over 30 million educators.
