The State Government has announced Royalties for regions funding for the performing arts centre and gym at St Luke’s College in Karratha.
“The performing arts centre and gym development means students will have the opportunity to undertake extensive study in a number of areas, including performing arts, music, visual arts and astronomy if they choose to do so”, said Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls.
Education Minister Peter Collier welcomed the funding announcement and said it was important to recognise the significance of this asset not only to the students but to the community of Karratha.
Mr Collier said many local community and sporting groups would also use the facility, which is expected to be ready by February 2014.
The Pilbara Education Partnership Fund aims to build partnerships with industry and other key stakeholders to ensure students at all levels receive quality education by providing greater choice in study options.
